Issue

After an ONTAP upgrade to 9.13.1P17, 9.15.1P13, 9.15.1P14, or 9.16.1P6 customers with MetroCluster IP systems that utilize T6 adapters may encounter these errors:
nvmm_error: nvmm.mirror.aborting:debug]: mirror of sysid 2, partner_type DR PARTNER and mirror state NVMM_MIRROR_OFFLINE is aborted because of reason NVMM_ABORT_SYNCING_MIRROR.
nvmm_mirror_sync: nvmm.mirror.aborting:debug]: mirror of sysid 2, partner_type DR PARTNER and mirror state NVMM_MIRROR_OFFLINE is aborted because of reason NVMM_ERR_BAILOUT


  • This only impacts MetroCluster IP systems that use onboard T6 ports or add-in T6 adapters. 
  • There is no known impact to data availability.
  • This defect will prevent a MetroCluster Switchover
