Configuration replication can vary by feature and, in some cases, by individual attributes within different configuration tables.
Cluster-level Configurations:
Are generally not automatically synchronized between sites and must be configured independently on each site.
Examples Include:
  • IPspaces
  • Broadcast domains
  • Failover groups
  • Subnets
  • VLANs
  • Interface groups (ifgrps)
  • Cluster management network settings
  • BGP configuration
  • NTP
  • SNMP
  • Autosupport

SVM-level configurations:
Are generally synchronized between sites for MetroCluster-eligible data SVM replicas. This does not apply to admin SVMs or cluster SVMs.

Examples Include:

  • SVM configuration
  • Data LIFs
  • Volumes
  • SMB/CIFS shares
  • Export policies
  • Export policy rules
  • NFS-related settings
  • Snapshot schedules
