Description

StorageFCAdapterFault_Alerts are triggered on FC MetroCluster systems when an initiator link is detected at being down. This alert can have multiple causes.

  • Call home alert:

[mgwd: callhome.hm.alert.major:alert]: Call home for Health Monitor process nchm: StorageFCAdapterFault_Alert [100000109bxxxxxx].

  • The MetroCluster_Node subsystem health reports degraded:

        Acknowledge: false
     Probable Cause: FC initiator adapter 4d is at fault.
    Possible Effect: Resiliency of backend storage is compromised.
 Corrective Actions: 1. Ensure that the FC initiator link has not been tampered with.
                     2. Verify the operational status of the FC initiator
                     adapter by using the command "system node run -node
                     local -command storage show adapter".

  • Event logs report:

::> event log show

[slifc_intrd: fci.link.break:error]: Link break detected on Fibre Channel adapter 4d.
[slifc_timeout_3: fci.link.error:error]: Could not recover link on Fibre Channel adapter 4d after 30 seconds. Taking the adapter offline.
