Issue

  • An NVIDIA SN2100 Ethernet switch might be shown as "Unsupported" in ONTAP Ethernet Switch Health Monitor (CSHM), despite being listed in NetApp Hardware Universe as supported.

       Probable Cause: Unsupported Ethernet switch is detected.
      Possible Effect: Communication problems and network connectivity issues occur.
  Corrective Actions: Unsupported Ethernet switch "Switch-01" found.
  Connect a supported Ethernet switch to the network.

  • When checking the switch, you can see that the switch part number is set to X190006-PE:

The switch is falsely detected as unsupported due to the switch's part number not being recognized correctly by ONTAP.
