Mediator Connections status failed after patching the RHEL host
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- ONTAP Mediator 1.10
- MetroCluster
Issue
- After applying a routine Red Hat security patch and upgrading the kernel
(kernel-5.14.0-570.52.1.el9_6.x86_64)on the mediator server (RHEL 9.6), the ONTAP Mediator service becomes offline or unreachable from the MetroCluster configuration. - This results in the mediator connection status showing “false” or “not connected” in ONTAP, and the following errors may be observed:
MetroCluster configuration-settings mediator show
MediatorIP Port Node Configuration Connection Status Status
---------------------------------------------------------------------
10.133.x.1xx 31784 node_01 true false
- Reinstalled ONTAP mediator and SCST package but issue persist.
- ONTAP_mediator service and mediator_scst service are up in mediator 1.10.
- Ports 31784 and 3260 are open.
- Adding mediator from MCC, we got below error and the sudoers file have the required entries.
