Does LUN resize replicate automatically in a Metrocluster configuration?

Answer

  • In MetroCluster environment, LUNs are not getting replicated to other site, as it is a replication within the aggregate.
  • For example, A volume will be having 2 copies within same aggregate - one on local plex & one on the remote plex. Data read will happen mostly from local plex but write happens to both local and remote plex. Physical location of disks in remote plex is other site. That’s how we still have data when one site goes down.
  • After the LUN resizing is complete, resync the vserver so that the LUN size is mirrored on the other side.
