(DISK REDUNDANCY FAILED) ERROR and scsi.path.excessiveErrors triggered in fabric MCC

Issue

  • EMS logs indicate the following:

[node-01: slifc_timeout_1: scsi.path.excessiveErrors:error]: Excessive errors encountered by adapter 4b on disk device switch-06:10.126.
[node-01: slifc_intrd: scsi.cmd.abortedByHost:error]: Disk device switch-06:10.126L27: Command aborted by host adapter: HA status 0x4: cdb 0x28:0000a410:0008.
[node-01: slifc_intrd: scsi.cmd.retrySuccess:debug]: Disk device switch-06:11.126L27: request successful after retry #1/#0: cdb 0x28:0000a410:0008 (10990).
[node-01: svc_queue_thread: callhome.dsk.redun.fault:error]: Call home for DISK REDUNDANCY FAILED

  • FC port 2 of ATTO bridge is flapping.

[node-01: dsbridge_admin: fc.bridge.fc.port.alert:alert]: Fibre Channel FibreBridge7600N Bridge ATTO_200000XXXXXX4300 S/N: FBXXXXX335 WWN: 200000XXXXXX4300 FC Port FC_PORT2 offline.

  • The system transitions to "Multi-Path HA" from "Quad-Path HA" configuration.

  • On the Brocade switch,  porterrshow shows there are crc and crc_geof errors seen in port 10 of the switch along with pcs err and uncor err
