Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • 4 Node MetroCluster (Fabric or IP)
  • 1 node is down and in takeover

Issue

Switchover fails due to being unable to contact the node that is down

Example:

Warning: Unable to list entries on node Node1a. RPC: Couldn't make connection [from mgwd on node "Node1b" (VSID: -1) to
mgwd at XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX]
Error: command failed: Failed to retrieve system image status information for all nodes. Reason: RPC: Couldn't make connection [from
mgwd on node "Node1a" (VSID: -1) to mgwd at XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX]. Verify that the nodes are healthy using the "cluster show"
command and that cluster peering is available using the "cluster peer show" command, then retry the operation.
