Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • SnapMirror
  • Compression is enabled
  • Quiescing SnapMirror and disabling of compression are being performed within 10 seconds after the completion of the SnapMirror transfer.

Issue

  • Disabling compression fails with the following error:

Command failed: [Job 1233] Job failed: Failed to modify efficiency configuration for volume "compressed" of Vserver "svm01": A SnapMirror transfer is running or paused.
Use the "snapmirror show" command to view the status of the transfer. Retry this command when the transfer is complete, or run "snapmirror abort -hard true" to abort the SnapMirror transfer and clear any checkpoint data.

  • After the error, waiting a little and retrying results in success.
