Answer

  • Once enabled on a node, the ONTAP Compliance Clock cannot be disabled
  • This is by design and is meant to act as a tamper-proof mechanism to guarantee the integrity of WORM (Write Once, Read Many) data retention periods
  • Having ONTAP Compliance Clock enabled on a node does not mandate the activation and use of any of the SnapLock features, if not desired
