Issue

  • To configure ONTAP to use Microsoft Entra-ID (formerly known as Azure Active Directory) as an external authentication source, upgrade to ONTAP 9.17.1.
  • For earlier versions, ONTAP does not support direct authentication with Microsoft Entra-ID, which poses a challenge as Microsoft plans to deprecate further development of on-premise Active Directory (AD).
  • Align with Microsoft's direction to avoid potential future issues with on-premise AD.
