NetApp XCP report error failed to get security descriptor due to insufficient privileges

Issue

  • When running XCP sync, we see error messages "Failed to get security descriptor":

ERROR - xcp.acls - 7048 - 7084 - failed to get security descriptor for \\cifs-server\share-name\ ; skipping transferring ACLs and ownership

  • Data copied on target without any issues.  However, when trying to copy ACLs getting the above error.
  • XCP sync with option "-onlyacl" also fail with same error.
