ONTAP SAN SM-as in never ending giveback of node

Issue

  • New ASA setup with SM-as (SnapMirror active sync) in never-ending giveback of  node
  • System Manager shows Node "node1" is performing a giveback of node "node2" message over and over again
  • Cluster reboot or any other action is not solving the issue
  • vserver  SM-as cache synchronization issue causes Waiting for cluster applications to come online on the local node. Offline applications: SCSI blade 

WARNING

Very important: DO NOT edit ot delete any snapmirror relationships in an unhealthy state 

Error Example:
Node : node 2 : bcomd: callhome.bcom.vsinit.failed:alert]: Call home for SAN Kernel Agent Initialization Failed.
Node : node 1 : bcomd: callhome.bcom.vsinit.failed:alert]: Call home for SAN Kernel Agent Initialization Failed.
storage fail over / Panic  Call home for SAN Kernel Agent Initialization Failed.  
FAILED 214 8 214 Internal error. Waiting for the SAN SnapMirror active sync cache to be initialized.
