Is there any problem with setting the no_path_retry in /etc/multipath.conf to fail?

Answer

This depends on the actual environment construction requirements, but it is possible to set the no_path_retry to other values (such as fail/number of retries).

However, please be aware that there is a risk of I/O interruption when an HA failover occurs in ONTAP.
Also, if the number of retries in Linux is too few, there might be interruptions in LUN connections during the HA failover, or a switch in the Linux cluster may occur during the HA takeover.
