Applies to

  • ONTAP SAN
  • Cisco Switches

Issue

This specifically for environments using Cisco switches.

During a Takeover Giveback scenario of both nodes, after the first reboot, the paths to the first node go offline expectedly. Once the node come back online, the host is unable to re-establish the connection to the nodes, causing an outage when the second node reboots, cutting off the last of the remaining paths.
