Warning in Pre-Upgrade check due to presence of user-defined TPGs

Issue

  • During the pre-upgrade check for version 9.10, a warning message is received as below.

MESSAGE
Support for user-defined iSCSI target portal groups will be removed in a future release of ONTAP. Remove all user-defined iSCSI target portal groups (vserver:svm1): svm1:tpg_1, svm1:tpg_2, svm1:tpg_3, svm1:tpg_4
ADVICE
Contact support for help removing all user-defined iSCSI target portal groups.

  • To view the target portal groups on a cluster, execute the command ::*> vserver iscsi tpgroup show.
  •  Any tpgroups with tags 1 – 256 are user-defined TPGs and tags with any other numbers are default TPGs.
