Issue

  • The object-store connected to a node is unavailable and the following error is reported in the event logs:

[Node-01: OscLowPriThreadPool_2: object.store.unavailable:EMERGENCY]: Unable to connect to the object store "Pool1" from node bee1XXXX-1000-11ab-b123-00a098XXXXXX. Reason: Inter-cluster LIF not configured.

  • The InterCluster LIF is found to be disabled/deleted  on the node:

[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.lifBeingRemoved:notice]: LIF Node_01_IC01 (on virtual server 12245), IP address 10.XXX.XX.XX, is being removed from node Node-01, port e0d.

[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.lifdeleted.byadmin:notice]: LIF LIF-ic with ID 1042 (on virtual server 4294967295), IP address 10.27.xx.xx, was deleted.

  • In some cases, API calls may be sent to disable the InterCluster LIFs, and this can be seen in the audit logs:

[kern_audit:info:3520] 85XXXX00012345 :: Cluster-sto: http :: 10.XX.XX.XX:52790 :: Cluster-sto:admin :: PATCH /api/network/ip/interfaces/a1f69122-c6ce-11ee-4444-d039eaXXXXXX : ["X-Dot-Client-App: ontap-python"] {"enabled": false} :: Success:
