Issue

  • command chown failing with no error for NFSv4.x mounted exports.
  • No error messages are seen yet, ownership does not change.
  • command  chown works successfully for NFSv3.
  • The client's NFSv4 ID domain does not match that of the SVM:
  • NFS client:

                        [root@localhost ~]# nfsidmap -d
localdomain

  • ONTAP SVM

                        ::> vserver nfs show -fields v4-id-domain
 vserver v4-id-domain
                        ------- ---------------------
                        svm1    defaultv4iddomain.com
