What is the difference between "undetermined" and "OK" in the result of the vserver cifs domain discovered-servers show command?

Answer

  • The Domain Controller is discovered by ONTAP every 4 hours based on the domain servers list,and a query is made to the DNS server even without client access.
  • During this process, if the discovered Domain is in use, the Status will be "OK".
  • However, if the Domain is detected but not in use or connected, the Status will be "undetermined".
  • This is a normal expected behavior and is not a problem.
  • There is no need to change "undetermined" to "OK".
