Issue

  • After upgrading their clients from the Monterrey Mac OS to Ventura Mac OS users began to experience issues creating and accessing files of type MS Excel, Rich Text (RTF), and PDFs.
  • The anomolous behavior varies from not being able to create new files, sharing violations, and access denied.
  • Customer implemented the following work around at the Ventura Mac OS client in /etc/nsmb.conf based on Apple's suggestion

assume_dur_hndlV2_off=yes
file_ids_off=yes
