VSCAN is not excluding path, because Linux CIFS client is mounting path with / at end

Issue

  • VSCAN "-paths-to-exclude" not working

cluster1::> vserver vscan on-access-policy paths-to-exclude show -vserver svm1
Vserver         Policy Name    Paths Excluded
--------        -------------  ---------------------
svm1            default_CIFS    \Volume1\test1\Folder1

  • SMB share mounted on LINUX machine
  • In ONTAP Antivirus Connector log we can notice that excluded path is not honored and the scanned path contains double backslash character:

03/23/22-15:15:01.638Z VS_ScanCompletion: request id 157 of path \Volume1\test1\\Folder1\Folder2\document.doc completed with status[0, VSENGINE_NO_ERROR], str 'F'
