Unable to mount because of MTU mismatch in the network infrastructure

Issue

  • Mount process gets hung or errors out with 'mount.nfs4: timeout', which is a generic error.
  • Other errors may be:
    • ESXi reports datastore is disconnecting/reconnecting.
      • When it is attempted to clone or create a new VM from template process fails.
      • Resource inaccessible.
      • Error getting https://pathtto.ovf [https://pathto.ovf [...]]: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
  • NFS client and Ontap has jumbo frames enabled (9000 MTU).
