NAS access issues observed due to packet drops in the network

Issue

  • Linux clients are unable to access the NFS mount path(unable to mount or unmount).
  • Commands like "ls" "cd"  "df" on mountpoint hang.
  • CRON jobs on NFS exports are slow and latency is seen.
  • Copying files to NFS exports, high latency is observed and noticed poor performance.
  • Errors are reported when mounting the volume on RHEL client: 
    • mount.nfs: portmap query failed: RPC: Timed out
    • nfs: server svm-xxx not responding, still trying
  • Copying files to NFS exports fails intermittently with error:
    • The specified network name is no longer available
