Issue

  • Three security patches were installed on the following AD server environment
  • CIFS authentication began to fail.
  • This issue persisted until customers un-joined > re-joined the CIFS vserver to this AD domain
AD server OS: Windows server 2019
Patch list: KB5043126, KB5044016, KB5044277
  • Secd log:
Unable to connect to NetLogon service on <domain fqdn>(Error: RESULT_ERROR_GENERAL_FAILURE)
FAILURE: Unable to make a connection(NetLogon:domain.com), result:6940
 
  • vserver cifs check output shows domain status as down
Status: down
Status Details: SecD Error: no server available
