Unable to access CIFS share from Windows 2008 server when SMB encryption is enabled

Issue

  • Windows Server 2008 client unable to access a share and getting access denied error.
  • Windows Server 2016 clients able to access the same share using same credentials.
  • Below error seen in ems logs:
Tue Nov 05 13:12:31 +0530 [node1: kernel: Nblade.cifsEncShrAccessDenied:error]: Client (IP: 192.168.xx.xx, Vserver: 3) could not connect to CIFS share "share1" because SMB encryption is required.
