Issue

  • When attempting to read a file, a Ubuntu client may report Bad file descriptor
  • This persists until the client reboots
  • A packet trace shows the response from ONTAP is STATUS_FILE_CLOSED
  • Additional packet tracing may show that the client never issued a CREATE call to open the file prior to client attempting to read the file
