Rubrik SMB restore fails to retain correct permissions due to LDAP configuration

Issue

  • Attempting to restore files created via NFS using Rubrik over the SMB protocol, the file permissions are not restored correctly.
  • Rubrik displays "Failed to restore the file" error:

  • For NFSv4, the restored files show ownership as nobody, and for NFSv3, as root.
  • Expected behavior is that the files retain their original UNIX user ID or username.
