Issue

  • Repeated “OutErrors.NetAppPorts.dataSourceAlert” alerts are generated on NetApp system.
  • The alert specifically affects VLAN interface.
  • The interface is discarding outbound packets per second due to packet errors, placing it in a warning state.
  • No evidence of physical connectivity issues, optics failure, auto-negotiation problems, or LACP misconfiguration was found.
  • High transmit queue overflow and buffer allocation failures lead to packet drops and trigger OutErrors alerts.
