NIS group membership changes not reflected in NFS access

Issue

  • When updating NIS group memberships, changes are not immediately reflected in NFS file access permissions on ONTAP systems
  • Users may continue to receive “Permission Denied” errors after clearing nameservice and credential caches and rebuilding the NIS group database
  • The issue persists until the export-policy access cache is cleared or the cache expires (typically after 24 hours)
