In the following conditions, such as a sudden power loss, ONTAP may wrongly change LIF's home port to IFGRP member port spontaneously:

  1. Each cluster node has an IFGRP port and these IFGRP ports are added to the same broadcast domain.
  2. A LIF is created and home port is set to an IFGRP port.
  3. LIF's home node has been rebooted. Takeover or Switchover.
  4. Giveback / Switchback is issued
  5. After Giveback / Switchback, LIF's home port may be changed to a member port of this IFGRP.
