Issue
- Creating a CIFS server, some user mapping operations and other LDAP reliant calls fail due to LDAP client security requirements
- Examples of these errors:
- LDAP Error: Strong authentication is required
- Error: Strong(er) authentication required
- Below is an example of a 'cifs setup' failing due to LDAP client security requirements:
Error: Failed to create CIFS server. Reason: Failed to create the Active Directory machine account
"VSERVERNAME". Reason: LDAP Error: Strong authentication is required.
Error: Machine account creation procedure failed
