Answer

  • CIFS services will not be affected     
    • The Machine Account object in Active Directory can be updated via ONTAP CLI specifically or on recreation of CIFS server.
       
  • NFS services will be affected if Kerberos is used
    • The SPN has to be deleted/recreated if it already exists. 
    • Workaround when creating the Kerberos LIF:
      • NFS over TLS
      • NFS over IPSEC
      • Keytab file
      • or contact your Sales Representative for an enhancement request
