How does audit log rotation effect the log (destination) volume?

Answer

  • The audit log rotation feature rotates the active log files to which the audit records are written

  • Space stays consumed and does not get freed up as the process roles the logs

  • New logs will be created as long as destination volume has free space

  • Number of concurrent files: vserver audit modify -rotate-limit X
