Following headswap, 'df' and other operations hang via NFSv3

Issue

  • After a headswap, running commands like df or ls against preexisting NFS mounts results in an indefinite hang
  • Packet traces from both the client and server show that client attempts to reestablish its connection to the server but the TCP SYNs are never received by the server
  • Rebooting the clients appears to clear up the issue for any given client.
