FlexCache origin disconnects after ONTAP upgrade to 9.18.1

Issue

  • After upgrading an source cluster and destination cluster (SVM-DR destination) to ONTAP 9.18.1,  thedestination cluster began logging persistent and excessive FlexCache origin volume disconnects and CSM errors.
  • Errors include:
    • csm.invalidBladeUUID: reason 'mgwdifaceclusteridnotfound'
    • csm.createSessionFailed: sessiontag 'WAFL_REMOTE', error 'CSM_RPC', transport 'UNASSIGNED'
    • flexcache.cacheDisconnected:EMERGENCY
    • flexcache.origin.size.sync.failed.for.cache.cluster
  • Disconnects are generating EMERGENCY events on the DR cluster, with no corresponding disconnects on the primary origin or cache clusters.
