Issue

  • ONTAP systems report frequent EMS alerts:

[node-02: ypbind: nis.server.not.available: error]: None of the NIS servers configured for SVM 'svm1' can be contacted.

  • The ONTAP-side traces indicate multiple RPC retransmissions. However, the corresponding client-side traces did not show these RPC packets reaching the NIS server.
