Connection to the FPolicy server is broken with reason Select Timed out

Issue

  • EMS/Event log will display the following sequence of messages often:

USA0000000P  ERROR         fpolicy.server.disconnect: Connection to the FPolicy server "10.xx.xx.xx" is broken ( reason: "Select Timed out." ).
USA0000000P   ERROR         fpolicy.server.disconnect: Connection to the FPolicy server "10.xx.xx.xx" is broken ( reason: "FPolicy server is removed from external engine." 

  • FPolicy logs show that handshake fails with FPolicy while receiving a response from the FPolicy server:

  • Packet traces collected show no response from the FPolicy server for the TCP SYN sent from storage.
