Applies to

  • NetApp ONTAP
  • Cohesity integration with NetApp ONTAP for NAS backups
  • Scenarios where Cohesity attempts automatic NFS export policy rule creation via API

Issue

  • Automatic export policy rule creation by Cohesity fails on ONTAP cluster, resulting in backup failures. The following error is observed during backup attempts:mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting 170.241.x.y:/28960_Cxyzabuat_01/.snapshot/cohesity-280aabbccdd1104-11992exit_code: 32

  • Manual export policy rule creation via ONTAP CLI works as expected.

  • The same Cohesity configuration and service account succeed on another ONTAP cluster.
