Cannot delete files in CIFS volume on snaplock enterprise

Issue

  • Users are unable to delete certain files in a CIFS volume, even when they have Full Control permissions on both the share and NTFS ACLs. Attempts to delete the file return an “Access Denied” error.
  • Security trace shows:
    SecurityStyle: NTFS and Access is denied as the volume is readonly or directory is a snapshot while setting attributes.
  •  Packet trace:
    SetInfoResponse, Error: STATUS_CANNOT_DELETE
  •  File fingerprint output (ONTAP CLI):
    FormattedRetentionTime: Thu Feb 21 08:26:51 GMT 2030
