Can we add FDQN name in the Scanner pool instead of VSCAN server IP address

Answer

  • Yes, you can either add IP or FQDN to the Vscan scanner pool. 
  • Ensure that Vscan server IP address is configured properly in DNS

Note : 

  • If the scanner-pool was created using FQDN of the Vscan server, then ONTAP will perform a name-service lookup for that FQDN at scanner-pool creation\modification times.
  • If the DNS records do not match the actual IP of the Vscan server, then it will fail to connect to the Vserver.
  • Example below of -hostnames utilizing a FQDN:
