CIFS timeout issues

Issue

  • Intermittent timeouts and slowness were reported when accessing CIFS shares.
  • Users could see shares in file explorer, but accessing them resulted in indefinite spinning and no content display.
  • Some users reported slowness moving or accessing files.
  • EMS logs showed multiple Nblade.CifsOperationTimedOut alerts.
  • Error messages such as ‘An internal error occurred’ were observed.
  • CIFS check worked, and domain controllers responded in 6ms.
  • No recent changes or maintenance were performed prior to the issue.
  • Issue started after power surges and electrical instability (flickering lights due to wind).
