Issue

  • Users are not able to access the netapp storage (CIFS Shares) after DCs were patched with MS patch for CVE-2025-49716.
  • After the issue occurred, patches to DCs were backed out, but problem persisted.
  • The packet traces  shows that the clients were doing a Tree Connect using SMB2 signatures to connect to a share but when the client attempted to do a Create to open the root of the share, it was not using SMB2 signatures.
