CIFS share not accessible during Azure maintenance event

Issue

  • During Azure maintenance event, one CIFS share was inaccessible for 15 minutes
  • No CIFS related issues found in the logs
  • in EMS we see that the volume went offline :
    [node-01: token_mgr_admin: token.vol.cache.cleared:notice]: Token cache for volume vol1 was cleared because the volume went offline.
  • Before the issue occurence, the volume was involved in operations indicating performance issues:
    [node-01: sm_logger_main: smc.snapmir.schd.trans.overrun:error]: Scheduled transfer from source volume 'svm_1:vol1' to destination volume 'path:/to/destination' is taking longer than the schedule window. Relationship UUID 'UID'.
  • In the performance archive, we could observe QOS throttling problem
