CIFS share latency with vscan enabled

Issue

  • Customers have reported latency on volumes when AV Scan is enabled
  • Slow performance / High latency in CIFS, introduced by Vscan
  • Enable additional logging on the AV server
  • In the log file, observe if the pipe connection to ONTAP was already established by the registration of the interface
  • Later in the log, check if a second pipe attempt was made to establish, which failed.
  • Errors may be seen like below:

04/05/23-18:31:10.447Z Reverse DNS lookup of 10.90.39.13 failed (9003).
04/05/23-18:31:10.462Z [Pipe: 10.90.39.13, ][r] CreateNamedPipe failed with 1. closingQ: [0]
04/05/23-18:31:10.534Z Reverse DNS lookup of 10.90.56.161 failed (9003).
04/05/23-18:31:10.539Z Reverse DNS lookup of 10.90.56.135 failed (9003).
