CIFS connections became unstable after ONTAP upgarading

Issue

  • After upgrading ONTAP from 9.7P8  to 9.13.1P13 both Linux and Windows CIFS connections became unstable .
  • From packet trace, the ping responses disappear on switch.
  • when run command # lsof +D /var/local/hpc from any of the Linux clients then the CIFS became stable.
