Issue

During scheduled backup jobs, CIFS shares hosted on NetApp storage intermittently switch between online and offline states. This results in backup failures, with the backup application reporting the mount path as inaccessible. Manual access to the same shares from Windows Explorer (using the same backup user account) often works at the same time.

CommVault error message :

Device went offline
FailureReason: Mount path is inaccessible.
Check the following.
a. Is the mount path visible to the operating system on the MediaAgent machine?
b. Is the username/password correctly entered?
c. Does this user have read/write privileges to this mount path?
