Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • CIFS/SMB
  • NDMP
  • Tina Backup Application

Issue

  • After a node replacement and/or LIF migration; backup software reports backup failures because the expected file path changed unexpectedly
  • The backup application sees a new folder with a “_root” suffix added to the path, which does not match the original configuration, resulting in failed backups
  • Example:
    Original path: /SVM_PATH_NAS/Admin_Programs
    Current (incorrect) path: /SVM_S-BaieSAN1_NAS/SVM_PATH_NAS_root/Admin_Programs
    Backup fails: path not found
