Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Computer-aided three-dimensional interactive application (CATIA)
  • DFS (Distributed File System)
  • CIFS

Issue

  • CATIA is accessing shares via DFS and is changing server access randomly
  • DFS is setup for location access based on costs, but it's suddenly changed
  • TCP Dump shows errors like 'STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND'
  • ONTAP shows a lot of anonymous session logins generated by CATIA:

::*> cifs session show -vserver <vserver> -windows-user "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON"
