Saving text file reports error "You don't have permission to open this file"

  • CIFS
  • SMB 3.1
  • Windows Notedpad 11.2406.9.0
  • User doesn’t have write permission for a directory in the upper hierarchy

Issue

  • When saving text file, the following error occurs:

"You don't have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission."

  • This issue only occurs when using Notepad 11.2406.9.0.
  • The same error does not occur when using other text editor.
  • The same error occurs not only on NetApp products,also on other third-party storage solutions.
