Issue

  • Rest API calls intermittently fail with https connection timeout
  • Failures are occurring via python requests script and direct API calls
  • ONTAP logs show successful HTTP 200 responses
  • The client trace shows a lot of TCP retransmissions and the client is tearing down the TCP session while ONTAP is still transmitting TLS application data:

  • From firewall side, we see that the FW is sending a reset to ONTAP LIF:
